Pamela Seba Calderone was born on July 1, 1948, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Pearl A. (Brown) and Raymond E. Seba.  She was raised in Larned, Kansas, with her sister, Barbara, and brother, Rodney.  Her hometown always held a special place in her heart, and she reminisced fondly about winter days spent sledding down the street and summer afternoons in the town swimming pool.  She graduated from Wichita State University in 1971 with a degree in Social Work, and subsequently received a Masters degree from Kansas State University in 1973 in Counseling and Guidance.  Upon graduation, she worked as an adoption specialist in Denver, Colorado, and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was a State Parole and Probation Officer.
Having met the love of her life, Rob Calderone, she moved to Reno, Nevada.  They married on February 28, 1982 – the same date as her parents’ anniversary.  In 1984 she became mother extraordinaire to Taylor.  She became very involved in Taylor’s school programs and in her dance studio.  She incorporated her love of books into children’s library programs.  She was very proud of developing the Reflections Program that brought fine arts, writing and poetry to young people, many of whom went on to win awards at the State level.  Through her love of dance, Pamela was active in a dance program that brought ballet, tap, and jazz to those young people who could not afford lessons.
Pamela loved Reno, her home, the mountains, the climate, the smell of sagebrush, and the animals of the high desert.  She greatly enjoyed her association with best friends Becky Sanders and Kathleen Woodard – the three lovingly known as The Lakeridge Society girls.  In retirement, Pamela pursued quilting, scrapbooking, reading, and genealogy.
When Taylor graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2007, and it became apparent she was going to remain on the East Coast, Rob and Pamela moved to Pennsylvania to be close to Taylor and her developing life.  They were thrilled when Taylor married Anthony Minervini in 2011, and ecstatic when their first granddaughter was born May 2, 2013.  Pamela was speechless and humbled that her granddaughter was named Pamela in her honor.  In the spring of 2014, Rob and Pamela moved to New Jersey to be able to enjoy young Pamela every day.
Pamela was a wonderful woman who had a china doll appearance and an iron constitution.  She was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who taught us to never give up, to be creative, and to use humor often.  We miss her terribly.  Godspeed Pamela.  We love you.
